A day with Sid

Sid is the sensory disorder alien. Sensory disorders affect a person's brains ability to process information around them this can be either hyposensitive (not enough stimulation where they actively have to seek out stim) or hypersensitive (where everything processes super intense and quickly so it doesn't make any sense and becomes very overwhelming quickly) or both can be experienced at the same time with different senses. These disorders can effect a person's daily life in many ways such as the ability to wear clothing, eat, touch (like hold hands or hug), go outside without sunglasses or hearing protection of some sort. It can cause the person with this disorder physical pain during overloads and emotional distress during their overloads as well and until their sensory overload is over they can't calm down because their body is overwhelmed. In relation to tic disorders sensory disorders are not uncommon co-morbidities and in things like Tourette syndrome you can have sensory issues as part of it. Sensory input can also trigger certain tics as well.
