Mobility aids

Let's talk mobility aids really quick.

The artist uses several, but the one she uses the most is the wheelchair, and she uses that anywhere from 70%-90% of the time depending on how stable her legs are. Her walker is weighted as it adds more stability to it and the gait belt she uses has padded handles for the comfort of whoever is helping her.

Mobility aids are used for so many reasons it can be used for fatigue, pain, safety, stability, etc.

The artist's legs don't work correctly and she falls a lot if she is not using her aids. It's a significant safety concern. It's also a freedom thing when going out and about as it allows her more energy to have fun and complete more tasks when doing things by using her chair. It also eliminates the worries of falling out in public.

Using a mobility aid can also be a little uncomfortable sometimes but one workaround that has been discovered is by decorating it to make it less "ugh" and more appealing to use.
