Sensory Aids

Hey, Sid wanted to talk about some of the aids he uses to help him deal with the world around him sometimes. Now there are two versions of Sid that really mess with people Hypersensitive (everything is too much) and Hyposensitive (there is not enough stim) and sometimes it's some combo of both.

Now the artist has something called sensory processing disorder (SPD) where her nervous system just processes the world around her differently and it affects her FND and Tourettes. So she uses sensory aids to help her with not having as rough of a time. Along with asking for accommodations at places like restaurants. Other things you may think of when you think of Sid are Autism or sensory issues. (The Artist is not well versed in autism so that is not one she is comfortable educating on)

But these are some of the aids Sid has used. The weighted blanket is wonderful not just for sleep but for any time sitting down or watching movies, ear plugs and headphones make going out so much easier and more enjoyable, compression wear makes long sleeves and pants a lot more tolerable, and sunglasses help so much with not getting the headache from lights.

What's something you have found that's really helpful sensory-wise?
