Stormy Weather

With Tourette Syndrome and other Neurological Disorders It can cause issues sensory wise this can cause either hypersensitivity (everything is way too much) or hyposensitivity (nothing is enough). Obviously no one can control the weather and storms happen and are loud and flashy and can cause some issues. For the artist loud noises and flashing lights trigger seizures and tic attacks making things like storms very difficult to handle. To help combat the noise and flashes of large storms the artist uses things like hearing protectors or ear plugs, and stays in her bed room since it has black out curtains that stop the flashes from any lightning. She also has found using a weighted blanket helps sometimes. Although this doesn't prevent everything it does help quite a lot.

If storms are a big problem for you what are some pro tips that you have figured out?
