Decorating for Christmas is such a fun time of the year! Lights go up, special treats get made, candles get lit, and so many memories get made or shared.
Decorating for Christmas can be quite a challenge though for many people as with sensory issues and tics it can be quite difficult. Tics can cause decorations to get broken unitionally and sensory issues can make certain decorations need to be changed or adapted. For example a close family member of the artist can't look at twinkle lights so those are not on or really used in decorations in the house instead they use a white tree and have relective garliands and ordements. The artist herself can't touch the Christmas tree because of the texture and instead just kept company as other decorated over Thanksgiving. Adapting your traditions and decorations to acomidate those that need it is improve to everyone enjoying the holidays!
